The right candidate is hands-on, organized, and skilled at guiding projects forward while mentoring others and maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform high-quality carpentry from framing through finish on residential remodeling and new build projects.</li><li>Lead by example: set the pace for craftsmanship, job site safety, and cleanliness.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and plans accurately.</li><li>Coordinate daily work with Project Managers and trade partners to stay on schedule and within budget.</li><li>Manage and mentor apprentices or carpenters assigned to your projects.</li><li>Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, trades, and the GNB team.</li><li>Ensure all work meets company standards for quality and detail.</li><li>Assist in material take-offs, ordering, and job site setup as needed.</li><li>Identify and resolve on-site challenges efficiently and safely.</li><li>Represent Great Northern Builders' values in every client and team interaction.</li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of hands-on residential carpentry experience, including remodeling and finish work.</li><li>Experience leading small crews or working independently on complex projects.</li><li>Strong knowledge of framing, trim, cabinetry, and building systems.</li><li>Ability to read plans, problem-solve in the field, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.</li><li>Professional, respectful communication skills with clients and coworkers.</li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.</li><li>OSHA certification or safety training a plus.</li><li>Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in varying conditions.</li></ul> Personal Qualities<ul><li>Dependable, proactive, and takes ownership of every task.</li><li>Calm, positive, and adaptable when plans change.</li><li>Team-oriented : values collaboration and accountability.</li><li>Proud of well-built, clean, and organized work.</li><li>Committed to ongoing learning and skill development.</li></ul> Salary &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Full-time, W-2 position</li><li>$30-$38/hour, depending on experience, plus discretionary bonuses</li><li>Paid Time Off: 2 weeks to start; additional PTO after 2 years</li><li>Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving + Friday after, Christmas Day, and half-day Christmas Eve</li><li>Retirement: SIMPLE IRA with 3% company match (after 90 days)</li><li>Health Insurance: Up to $500/month toward premium</li><li>Life, Short- &amp; Long-Term Disability Insurance: Company-paid</li><li>Dental &amp; Vision Insurance: Company-paid</li><li>$500 Annual Tool Allowance</li><li>Company truck and tools provided for site work</li><li>Continuing education and advancement opportunities</li></ul> Why Work With UsAt Great Northern Builders, we build homes and careers with care.
